After a few glasses of whiskey, I decided it was time to summon ChatGPT4. I started off by asking what it knew about the “mud flood” conspiracy theory, then building 7, etc. I eventually asked what the most convincing ones were. Spoiler alert, it the highly contested conspiracy surrounding the assassination of JFK Jr.
This was all fun but my mind started to get a bit more creative…
Me: Can you draw me a table?
GPT-4:
As a text-based AI, I cannot directly draw images. However, I can help you create a simple text-based table, which can be displayed in a plain text format. Here's an example of a simple text-based table with headers and a few rows of data: +------+---------+--------+ | ID | Name | Age | +------+---------+--------+ | 1 | Alice | 28 | | 2 | Bob | 32 | | 3 | Carol | 25 | +------+---------+--------+ This table has three columns (ID, Name, and Age) and three rows of data. The table is created using + for corners, - for horizontal lines, | for vertical lines, and spaces for alignment. Please note that the appearance of this table may depend on the text editor or environment you are using. In some cases, you may need to use a monospace font (like Courier) to ensure that the characters align correctly. If you require more advanced table formatting or graphical representation, you may want to use a spreadsheet program like Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or a graphic design tool.
This isn’t much of a shock. GPT-4 has been trained on all kinds of datatypes. As I write this article, I asked it if it was a specific markup, it replied it was not, but tables do exist in other markup languages.
What was the most interesting to me at this point was that Chat GPT might be able to do ASCII art.
Me: Can you create ASCII art?
ChatGPT:
Certainly! ASCII art is a form of creative expression that uses characters and symbols from the ASCII character set to create images or designs. Here's a simple example of a smiley face using ASCII characters: :-) And here's a slightly more complex example of a small cat: /\_/\ / o o \ ( " ) Please note that ASCII art can vary in complexity and may not appear correctly in all text editors or environments. For best results, use a monospace font like Courier to ensure that the characters align as intended. If you have a specific request for an ASCII art image, please let me know, and I'll do my best to create it for you within the limitations of a text-based AI.
Oh! Well… let’s see…
Me: Can you draw yourself using ASCII art?
ChatGPT:
As an AI language model, I don't have a physical appearance or a specific visual representation. However, I can provide you with a simple ASCII art representation of the acronym "AI" to symbolize my identity as an artificial intelligence: ____ / \ | () | \____/ This simple design uses ASCII characters to form the letters "A" and "I" to represent "Artificial Intelligence." Remember that the appearance of this ASCII art may depend on the text editor or environment you are using, and it's best to use a monospace font for proper alignment.

I haven’t told it that the symbol it created isn’t an A or an I or both. It’s also not the OpenAI logo. I’m not sure what it is. I’ll leave that to you the readers to discuss online or in the comments.
I appreciate all of you who made it to the end. If you enjoy this type of content, please consider giving me a follow. I love writing and sharing fun and interesting things I discover along my journey. Cheers and happy hacking!
